A CTA bus was involved in a multi-vehicle accident Saturday morning. The accident occurred near the intersection of 67th and Jeffrey on the south side of Chicago. In addition to the bus, there were as many as four other vehicles involved in the collision.

Eight people were taken to area hospitals. Two of the people were reported to be in critical condition.

Anyone injured as a passenger on a CTA bus has good reason to act quickly to secure competent legal representation.

First, in order to file suit against the CTA, a special statutory notice must be completed and served on the CTA within 6 months of date of the original injury. Failure to timely and accurately comply with the notice requirements will result in dismissal of a lawsuit.

Second, on many CTA buses there are security cameras which can provide special detail and information about the accident itself. Putting the CTA on notice of the claim and requesting that the tapes of the accident be preserved is an important step in securing evidence crucial to a successful result.
