A retiree was involved in an accident in Evergreen Park when his motorcycle struck the back end of a car which pulled out of a bank parking lot in front of him. The driver of the car received a ticket for an improper turn.

He suffered http://www.dailysouthtown.com/news/311553,241NWS8.article and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The issue of who received a traffic ticket is one which always seems to be of enormous importance to the people who were involved in an accident, but it is often less important in practice.

The law in Illinois is that unless the party who receives a ticket pleads guilty to it in traffic court, the fact that a ticket was issued is not admissible in evidence, even if he is convicted at the traffic court hearing. Many tickets are dismissed when the victim fails to show for the traffic court hearing.

If you are the victim in a car accident, you should be careful to show for traffic court, as this increases the chances of a guilty plea being entered.
