An Indiana motorcyclist was hit and dragged by a truck. The truck was making a right hand turn from the center lane as the motorycylist passed him on the right.

The motoryclist had to be air-lifted from the scene with ankle, arm, rib, and knee injuries.

Every tractor-trailer has blind spots. The location of these of vary from rig to rig, but the sides of the trailer are a common one. Drivers of rigs have to check their mirrors well in advance of turning to see whether there is anything in the blind spot. Use of convex mirrors can also minimize the chance of missing someone in a blind spot.
