Kevetta Davis, 19, and Yasmin Jackson, 19, were killed when a driver for the VH1 reality show “Rock of Love with Bret Michaels” veered into the oncoming lane and struck their sports-utility vehicle.

The tragic accident took place on Friday night when Dennis Hernandez, 38, a crew member for the reality show, was driving to the TV series’ next stop. Hernandez apparently fell asleep, his vehicle crossed over the median into the northbound lanes of Interstate 57, struck a pickup truck and then smashed into Jackson’s SUV.

According to state police, both Davis and Jackson died at the scene. The two Florida residents inside the pickup truck were seriously injured, as well.

Hernandez received citations for offenses including driving with a suspended license.

The two Southern Illinois University students performed together on the SIU dance team.
