A North Carloina woman is recovering after being attacked by a pair of pit bulls. The pit bulls belonged to her neighbor and got out of their enclosure and went across the street and attacked the woman as she stood in her driveway. The dogs' owner was able to get them away from the victim.

The victim sustained bites and puncture wounds to arm, ear, hand, and leg.

The two main categories of people who are vulnerable to being injured in attacks by dogs such as pit bulls are senior citizens and children. Senior citizens in particular are vulnerable because they are often unable to defend themselves against attacks by the animals.
