Construction Accident Traps Virginia Workers

Several construction workers were believed to be trapped today when a slab of wet concrete collapsed on the 24th floor of a high-rise building, said officials.

Police spokesperson, John Lisle, said the cause of the construction accident is still unclear. Several workers were believed to be trapped and a handful of others had minor injuries, said Diana Sun, county spokeswoman.

Oscar Moscoso, a worker at the site, told reporters on the scene that he pulled six people out with his hands and shovels after the collapse happened. He believed the accident occurred because the concrete on the scaffolding was too heavy.
